Indiabell privacy policy
This policy explains what the Indiabell app and website collect, why, and how to have it deleted.
What we collect
- Phone number: used to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Display name and house number: shown to visitors who scan your doorbell QR code.
- Call metadata: time, duration and outcome of each doorbell call.
- Live audio: your voice during a call is sent to the visitor in real time and is not recorded.
- Visitor messages: video or voice messages left by visitors are stored for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Visitor details: before calling, a visitor gives their name, mobile number (checked with a one-time SMS code) and the reason for the visit. These are shown to the owner they call and kept in that owner's call history for 90 days, then removed automatically. The visitor's browser keeps a proof that the number was checked, so they do not need a new code on every visit.
- Push tokens: device identifiers used to ring your phone, delivered through Google (FCM) and Apple (APNs).
- Payment records: purchases and invoices. Card and UPI details are handled by our payment processor, Razorpay, not by us.
SMS codes are sent through our SMS provider, Fast2SMS. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or browsing history. The app never uses your camera. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or tracking.
Security
All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/WSS; calls use DTLS-SRTP).
Retention and deletion
You can request deletion of your account at any time from the Account screen in the app, or on the web as described on the account deletion page. Your account and doorbell stop working immediately; personal data is deleted within 30 days. Payment and invoice records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Children
The service is not directed at children.
